(Note: I definitely thought this post was written and posted Friday night … I was wrong! Sorry for the delay)
Friday is a rest day so my body can be ready for the 2-day Mid-Atlantic Affiliate Challenge this weekend. We have 3 WOD’s Saturday and 3 WOD’s on Sunday along with lots of sitting around so I’m anxious to see how it would go. I woke up and did the Long and Lean routine from the Beach Babe DVD. The video only takes about 14 minutes and stretches the whole body. For breakfast I had my Meta-D and a smoothie. I wasn’t sure how it would turn out, but it was great and I kept wishing I had more!
Blend the following:
– 1 medium banana
– 6oz pineapple juice
– 1/3c almond milk
– 1/2c spinach
– 1 (heaping) Tbs almond butter
– 1Tbs coconut oil (not melted)
-1Tbs flax seed
-1 scoop protein powder (I used Progenex)
I was a bit hungry in the morning so I snacked on some ham – an odd snack, but it worked! Lunch was a repeat of Thursday nights dinner, ground turkey breast with onions over spaghetti squash and avocado ‘cream’ sauce, but not as good the second time around. I had an apple in the afternoon, but then my schedule got a little off track. I had a wedding meeting that lasted way longer than I expected which meant I needed another snack (mixed nuts and an un-pictured KIND bar) and I didn’t have time to get in an evening walk or stretch. Bummer!
I still had to run some errands and had some odd dinner cravings. I made a huge salad with tons of raw veggies, avocado, and raisins topped with Tessemae’s Lemon Garlic and some eggs mixed with 1/2 chicken breast topped with Tessemae’s Lemon Chesapeake. Hit. The. Spot!
I also drank some Chocolate Zico for an after-dinner treat and additional hydration. Stay tuned for a post about my first crossfit competition!
